I love the ritual of moving into the new calendar. Last year we had birds, this year Tay Tay.
Its so fun to revisit the past months and remember what we were up to.
Around here, we go straight from the birthday of Baby Jesus to the birthday of Baby Tia.
Christmas decorations come down, birthday decorations go up.
Taking down the Christmas decorations is as satisfying as it is fun to put them up.
Tomorrow is New Year's Eve.
I have been thinking about some goals for the year.
Here they are so far:
*Remember to put sunscreen on Tia's face every day.
*Keep a journal by my bed so I can write down the crap I think about at 2am....for instance....the other night I had a dream that I could only remember parts of after I woke up. One part I remembered was that Clark had bought a 32 dollar jar of pickles out of a hotel mini-fridge and he was all non-chalant about it. I wish I remembered the rest of that dream because it sounds like a total fantasy!
*Write more letters. On paper. And mail them. With a stamp.
*Say yes more to things that make me uncomfortable. That is a lot more things.
*Say not to: There is this blog I compulsively read...by a super successful blogess who drives her kids around without seat belts and is super into Mitt Romney and guns and took donations for 2 years but now has a sailboat and season passes to a ski resort South of here for her entire family. Anyway, stop compulsively checking this blog and contributing my meager hits to her insanity while simultaneously pissing myself off for both compulsively reading it AND for what I read.
*eat right, exercise more, blah blah blah.
*Drink less wine and eat less Nutella.
(That last one was a joke)
Happy New Year!!
xoxo

If you figure out how to stay away from "that blog" let me know. Maybe we will need a support group!
I was so annoyed after the no-seatbelt-thing that I seriously asked myself why I kept reading her blog when my feelings had turned to annoyance. I am happy to say that I haven't read it since! You can do it!
